ABOUT

Pateros Catholic School is a non-stock, non-profit co-educational sectarian school established in Pateros, Metro Manila, then a part of Rizal province.  It was founded on June 1, 1951 by Rev. Msgr. Felix G. Sicat and was initially known as Pateros Catholic High School because it offered secondary courses with vocational subjects.  It was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Aug. 4, 1954 with Reg. No. 9011, officially recognized by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports on June 1, 1955 with Order No. 180 of R.A. No 24.  The opening of the Grade School Department in 1961 paved the way for the school’s change of name to Pateros Catholic School.

Pateros Catholic School, better known as PCS, has been under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Manila.  It remains a member of the Manila Archdiocesan and Parochial Schools Association (MAPSA) and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP).  The institution presently runs under the leadership of the Most Rev. Bishop Mylo Hubert Claudio Vergara, apostolic administrator of Pasig Diocese and an active member of the Pasig Diocesan Schools System (PaDSS). The parishes of Taguig, Pateros, and Pasig constitute the organizational membership of the Diocese of Pasig.  All major policies and decisions governing the institution are coursed through the Board of Trustees of the school.

The school has chosen San Roque and Sta. Marta as its patron saints.  San Roque exemplifies a way of life of humility, generosity, and determination to help others.  Sta. Marta is a model of humble faithful service.  Both saints provide constant inspiration to all the members of the PCS community.
