A pleasant good morning to each and everyone of you.
Being great in the eyes of God is not just a matter of having knowledge or having achievement. St. Lorenzo Ruiz would reveal to us three important points in his life na magandang makita natin.
Ang una, magandang makita natin from Lorenzo Ruiz, ang tinatawag na knowledge of the heart. St. Lorenzo Ruiz was not a priest. Hindi siya matalinong businessman. He was a simple altar man. He was a father of three children. He knew what was important. Yung kakayanan niya binigay niya sa Diyos at sa tao. He knew what was important and he knew who was important. And that was ehttps://www.facebook.com/PCS.OfficialPage/?ref=settings#nough for him.
At ngayon para sa atin na mga narito, kailangan na tayo, alam natin in our lives, who is important and what is important. Alam natin yung mga hierarchy of values na tinatawag natin. Marami tayong pinapahalagahan.
Many times as I speak to students I would always emphasize, especially for Catholic schools, the importance of God.
Sana, as you go along in our journey here, kahit kayo’y mga bata, we realize the value of Jesus in our lives, our best friend, our Saviour, the one who takes care of us.
We are studying the value of God and our Catholic Church.
That is why we recommend that all students be actively involved in the Church.
Students, young as you are, you have a gift in the family. Kaming matatanda, we are expected to give. We are a gift because we provide. We give wisdom. We give guidance.
The gift of joy.
Tandaan ninyo yan. You should make your parents smile. Nagpapangiti hindi nagpapangiwi. We should be a source of joy sa mga bahay natin because we are loving. We are responsible. We are good followers.
Pangatlo. Bilang estudyante o mag-aaral sa school, our mission is to study. Kaya walang bulakbol. Mabuti walang masyadong malapit na mall dito. Kaya ang mission natin aside from knowing, loving and serving God, and our family and the Church, is to study. ‘Yun ang ating misyon dito.
“Father, wala ba munang girlfriend o boyfriend?” Wala muna. Ok lang magkacrush pero ang priority, aral.
Learn to prioritize your studies. Naniniwala ba kayong kayo’y magaganda at guwapo? Listen.
Pag-aaral. Iyan ang paalaala sa atin ng buhay ni San Lorenzo Ruiz: knowing what is important, knowing who is important.
Pangalawa na alam ni San Lorenzo... Faithfulness. When he was called to give his speedy yes, nang siya’y maging martir, nagawa niya ito because everyday in his life, he was faithful to what is good, to what is valuable. He was faithful to God. Ganoon din dito mga anak. We are called to be faithful upholding the values of God and the Church; upholding what is taught to us by the school. Do it faithfully and you will learn a lot. You will grow becoming faithful.
Kanino? Sa inyong mga crush. Pero anong sabi ko kanina? “Maghintay ka.”
Courage. Matapang na gawin ang tama. Matapang na magtumpak ng mali. Courage to uphold values.
Seriously, my dear students, ito ang hamon sa atin, you are expected to become model youth. Children outside would always look up to you because you are not only students. You are supposed to be model Catholics... Model Christians… Make yourselves distinct from other students not because you are bright... not because you are talented... but because you have the proper values.
You know who and what is important: God, Church, Family, Studies.
We are faithful to God, to our school, to our family and we have the courage, the fortitude to do and to stand up for what is right.
Kaya magpatuloy tayo sa ating pagiging mabuti at masayang estudyante. Uulitin ko ‘pag may humamon sa inyo at yayain kayo at sasabihing ‘Patunayan mo.’ Anong sagot? “Maghintay ka.”
Palakpakan natin ang Panginoon.
