Unity in motion
11 PaDSS member schools under the Diocese of Pasig unite for a cause. Last March 16-17, 2018, group of PaDSS representatives traveled to Albay to donate goods – blankets, mats, toiletries, canned goods, rice, etc. to victims of Mt. Mayon eruption. Mr. Patrick del Rosario, PCS representative and Outreach Coordinator, together with the PaDSS group proceeded to the ancestral house of Fr. Orlin at Guinobatan, Albay.
A huge number of worried people – men, women and children alike, queued in front of Fr. Orlin’s house to have at least a portion of the donated goods. Before the day ended, everyone was happy and thankful for God’s blessing.
A time for reflection
“Visita Iglesia 2018”
According to Archbishop Romulo G. Valles, “Easter is the Lord’s promise of eternal life and happiness.” In our preparation for Easter, God in His providence offers us each year the season of Lent as a sacramental sign of our conversion. Visiting at least seven different churches is one of the most popular Holy Week panatas that Filipino Catholics make.
Before the start of the Holy Week, the three departments of PCS – grade school, high school and the non-teaching – made its yearly traditional Visita Iglesia to different churches and parishes in Pateros, Taguig, Pasig and Manila. Personnel prayed in front of the Blessed Sacrament, offered personal prayers and prayed in front of successive Stations of the Cross in each church led by assigned personnel to facilitate orderly proceedings.
Overall, the celebration gave PCS personnel a chance to “return to God wholeheartedly.”
Finishing touches: Pasubo 2018
February 5-9, 2018 was the Education Week of Pateros Catholic School. The week-long festivity culminated with the celebration of the Employees’ Day on Feb. 8.
PCS employees started with a Holy Mass presided by the School Director, Rev. Fr. Orlindo F. Ordoña. Thereafter, inspiring messages of thanks and gratitude were given by the members of the Director’s Council to all PCS personnel. After which came the much-awaited and traditional “PASUBO” in commemoration with the feast of Sta. Marta.
Employees gathered around the quadrangle, danced the pandangguhan and crowded at the center in time to catch the goodies termed “pasubo.” Everyone was cheerful and gaily jumped to catch the treats jovially thrown by the council members.
Let’s make hissstory...
Gabi ng Pagkilala
April 13, 2018 – The first ever awards night for personnel dubbed “PCS… Gabi ng Pagkilala” was a stellar success. The night started with the entrance of impeccably dressed teachers and non-teaching staff of PCS. The evening was remarkable as Ms. Montecillo and Mr. Zapanta steered the audience with their superb hosting.
Different recognitions and appreciations were given to deserving personnel for their different contribution to the school and to the students. Likewise, years of service awards were also bestowed to employees who reached more than 10 to 40 years in service.
The evening was topped by the selection of best dressed and the star of the night. Judges were Ms. Angelina Esguerra- retired grade school principal, Ms. Lorena Marcelino- retired HRD officer, and Mr. Ernesto Cortez- retired liaison officer.

“The Lord measures out perfection neither by the multitude nor the magnitude of our deeds, but by the manner in which we perform them." ST. JOHN OF THE CROSS. During Lenten Season, we let peace, humility and love reign our hearts. There is more to simply giving up our bad habits during lent. Change can't be reduced to exterior forms or vague resolutions or saying words superficially, but involves and transforms one's entire existence, starting with the center of the person, the CONSCIENCE...
Have you ever thought of Lent as a yearly second chance? Each year the Church gives us four weeks to take a long, loving look at our lives to see if our values and priorities are in line with God’s desires for us.
Since most of us find that we’ve wandered from God’s path, Lent becomes that second chance, or do-over, to “return to God with our whole heart.”
Lent is a meaningful time of prayer. As we journey through this annual second chance, remember that each step brings us closer to the welcoming arms of our loving God.
Have we ever thought that when we point our fingers to others, the remaining four fingers point back at us?
That only means that when we condemn a person, when we hurl insults, all these return
back to us! We may have felt self gratification, a sense of pride for picturing a tough US! But did we ever wonder that we only let the whole world know how selfish, egotistic, and self-incriminating we are!
Humility is a virtue... We cannot be proud and expect to be transformed away from our sins. We need to humble ourselves and have a spirit of repentance...
Likewise, Respect is gained... Respect is not earned overnight...
These are virtues that could give each one of us Inner Peace, Happiness, Harmony and Love.
Insecurity... Pride... Envy... Jealousy... summed up together means HATRED!!! All these are negative vibes that will consume a person... If a person will allow all these negative feelings dominate the whole being, all the negativities will devour the whole person...
Life is beautiful... Let us not spoil Life by being mean, rude, selfish, arrogant, and selfrighteous....
Half of LIFE is IF.... If we let all the negativities overpower our thoughts, what will become of us? If we will look at life from the eyes of a child, surely Life will be more meaningful...
Every Lenten Season let us pray for Forgiveness... Inner Healing... Inner Peace... A Cleansing of the mind, heart and actions... Make His Cross lighter by us being good and worthy of His sacrifices... Let us put away all our pride! Let us change our heart and give up all that is not good within us...
In the face of so many wounds that hurt us and lead to a hardness of heart, let us offer everything to God, in prayer... let us all pray amidst difficult and painful circumstances...
Let the season of Lent remind us all that this life we have and the material possessions we hold are just being LENT to us... We are all passersby... We are not immigrants here...We are all pilgrims on the road... We bring nothing when we die... BUT we can leave behind THE LOVE THAT WE HAVE SHARED, the hope that we have given and the goodness we have done...
Life feels good when somebody is THERE... It feels better when somebody SHARES. It feels best when somebody CARES...
